Player Profile:

Striker who began his career with Charlton, playing for their Colts side during the 1975/76 season.

Dave later had a spell with Wealdstone before joining Gravesend & Northfleet and he also turned out for Thamesfleet in the North Kent Sunday League during the 1976/77 campaign.

In January 1980, Dave signed for Margate and made his debut in 2-0 defeat at Andover on 9.2.80. He made three more appearances before leaving the club.

After a spell playing for Gravesend-based Sunday side Old Saxonians, Dave returned to Hartsdown Park in November 1983 as new Thanet United manager John Wickens' first signing and made his United debut in a 1-1 draw at Addlestone & Weybridge on 26.11.83. He went on to miss a penalty on his home debut against Erith & Belvedere, one of three further appearances (one as sub) that Dave made, but he then failed to turn up for United's game at Chatham on 26.12.83. John Wickens said: "He has definitely played his last game for me because he had promised he would be there." Dave was then released.

He was playing for Leather Bottel Rangers in the North Kent Sunday League during the 1988/89 season.

Dave's surname may have been spelt 'Mackleden'.
