Player Profile:

England Amateur international who had a lengthy spell with Leytonstone where he enjoyed great success. Freddie was a member of the side that beat Barnet 1-0 in the FA Amateur Cup Final at Stamford Bridge in 1948. A crowd of 59,605 watched the match and the large attendance prompted the FA to play future finals at Wembley. Leytonstone also won the Isthmian League, Essex Senior Cup and London Senior Cup during the 1947/48 season.

Freddie joined Margate in September 1951 and made his debut in a 5-0 win over Canterbury at Hartsdown Park on 8.9.51. He went on to make nine appearances during the 1951/52 season. He also made a single first-team appearance during 1952/53 but was principally a reserve team player and scored 15 goals for them during the season, including five in a 16-0 win over Rochester & Borstal in November 1952.

Freddie left the club in the summer of 1953 and returned to Leytonstone where he was player-manager during the 1954/55 season but by 1955/56 he was no longer in charge.

Freddie later managed Rainham and was in charge there when he sadly died suddenly in 1959.
