Player Profile:

Midfielder Godfrey started his career with Conference South side St Albans City at the beginning of the 2009-10 season. In January 2010, he was signed on a free transfer by Conference Premier club Luton Town but was soon loaned back to St Albans for one month.

Godfrey made his Luton debut in October 2010 and signed a two-year contract extension the following month. Over the course of the 2010-11 season, he made 19 appearances for Luton.

In August 2011, Godfrey was loaned to Conference Premier side Southport for six months as part of the transfer that took Southport midfielder John Paul Kissock to Luton. Godfrey then returned to Kenilworth Road.

In June 2012, he joined Conference Premier side Mansfield Town on a two-year deal. In August 2012, Godfrey was sent on loan by Mansfield to Southport until the end of the season. It wasn't until October 2013 that Godfrey made his Mansfield debut.

In January 2014, he joined Conference Premier side Alfreton Town on loan for the rest of the season. He was released by Mansfield at the end of 2013-14.

In August 2014, Godfrey joined Conference Premier side AFC Telford United on a one-year deal. At the end of the season, he joined National League side Woking. In November 2015, he joined National League South side Havant & Waterlooville on a one-month loan.

In June 2016, Godfrey signed for National League South side Oxford City. On 19.11.16, Godfrey scored for Oxford in a 5–0 win at Margate. He was named as Oxford's player of the season. In summer 2017, Godfrey joined National League South side Wealdstone.

He rejoined Woking in May 2019, leaving Kingfield at the end of the 2019-20 campaign. In August 2020, Godfrey returned to Havant & Waterlooville on a two-year deal. He was released at the end of the 2021-22 season.

He joined Hemel Hempstead Town at the start of the 2022-23 season. Following a short spell with Enfield, Godfrey signed for Margate in September 2023.

He made his Margate debut as a sub in a 4-1 defeat at Canvey Island on 23.9.23. He was then a regular in the side for the next few months, leaving Hartsdown in January 2024.

He started the 2024-25 campaign with Sittingbourne. Godfrey announced his retirement from football at the end of the season.
