Player Profile:

A tall striker, Jay started his career with Tonbridge Angels. He joined Dartford in summer 2006 and helped them win the Isthmian North title in 2007-08. In summer 2008, he left the Darts to join Blue Square South side Bromley. Early in 2008-09, he went on loan to Ramsgate.

Jay then returned to Dartford, now an Isthmian Premier side, in March 2009 and scored on his return in a 1-1 draw at home to Harlow Town on 24.3.09.

Jay then had his second spell at Tonbridge starting in 2009-10 and was released by them in 2010-11. There followed brief spells with Croydon Athletic and Maidstone United.

Jay was top scorer in the 2011-12 campaign for Billericay Town when they won the Isthmian Premier title. He then joined Blue Square South side Bromley. Jay left Bromley at the end of the 2013-14 season and signed for Maidstone United.

He was Maidstone’s top scorer in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons when they won back-to-back promotions from the Isthmian League to the National League. He started 2016-17 with a loan spell at Hastings United but, in October 2016, joined Hythe Town.

He signed for Margate in August 2017 and was in and out of the starting XI in the early part of the 2017-18 season. His first Margate goal was in a 1-1 draw at Harlow Town on 21.10.17. He didn’t score again until a 4-2 home win over Brightlingsea Regent on 19.12.17.

Jay ended the season with seven goals from 36 appearances (including 12 as a sub) and scored twice in one match – a 4-2 home win over Harlow Town on 7.4.18.

Jay left the club at the end of the season and signed for Dulwich Hamlet. In February 2019, he joined Ashford United. After a brief spell at Romford, Jay finished his career at Ashford United and retired at the end of the 2021-22 season.
