Player Profile:

Welsh attacking player born in Newport, Monmouthshire who played for Aylesham County Modern School's team alongside future Margate goalkeeper Alf Bentley as a youth in the mid 1940's.

Jimmy later started his senior career with Snowdown and in January 1956 he left the colliery club to join Margate.

Jimmy made his debut in a Kent League match against Betteshanger at Hartsdown Park on 3.3.56 and scored in a 3-0 win. He also scored a hat-trick in a 6-0 win at Chatham on 5.5.56. In total he scored ten times in 12 first team appearances before the end of the 1955/56 campaign.

Jimmy also played five matches during the early months of the 1956/57 season but then spent the remainder of the campaign in the reserves, scoring over 20 goals for them.

In August 1957 he was released by Margate and returned to Snowdown.

Jimmy later played for Ashford and was with them during the 1958/59 and 1959/60 campaigns. He scored four times in a Kent Senior Cup tie against Tunbridge Wells during the latter season but still ended up on the losing side as Ashford went down 5-4. He made a total 20 Southern League appearances for the Nuts & Bolts and scored seven goals.
