Player Profile:
Midfielder Kane started his career at Brighton where he became reserve team captain but was released at the end of 2008-09 without breaking into the first-team. He'd had a loan spell at Bognor during his time at Brighton.
Spells at Ebbsfleet United, Lewes and Eastbourne Borough followed before he joined Isthmian League Bognor Regis Town in October 2010. They won promotion via the play-offs to the Premier Division in 2011-12. Bognor reached the Premier Division play-offs in 2013-14 and Kane, who had captained the side, was named in the Divisional Team of the Year.
After a close season trial at League Two Crawley Town, Kane signed a two-year contract with Margate in 2014. He was a regular feature of our promotion-winning team in 2014-15, making 46 appearances, plus seven as sub. He scored against his old club Bognor in a 1-0 win on 25.4.15. Kane also played in play-off semi-final and final against Dulwich Hamlet and Hendon respectively.
Kane stayed with Margate as we entered National League South in 2015-16. He sustained an injury in the Thanet Cup match at Ramsgate on 21.7.15 and only featured in our starting XI once in the first eight matches but regained his place in the team after that. He scored twice in a 5-1 win at Potters Bar in the FA Cup on 26.9.15 and got the winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Hemel Hempstead on 21.11.15. Kane also scored in a 2-1 win at promotion-chasing Ebbsfleet on 23.1.16.
As Margate narrowly avoided relegation at the end of the season, Kane was one of a number of players to be released.
He joined Isthmian League Worthing for 2016-17 where he won the manager's, players' and supporters' player of the year awards. His form earned a return to National League South side Eastbourne Borough for 2017-18.
He signed for Dorking Wanderers in July 2020. Kane then returned to Worthing for 2021-22, who were now in the National League South, on a season-long loan from Dorking. The deal becoming permanent.
