Player Profile:
6' 4" central defender who began his career at Chatham Town, Brentwood Town and Thamesmead Town before jumping two divisions to join Concord Rangers of National League South in 2017-18.
From there, Lewis started 2018-19 at East Thurrock United, then of National League South, before joining League rivals St Albans City in the second half of that season. He then signed for Maidstone United for 2019-20 and Billericay Town in August 2020.
He arrived at Hartsdown ahead of the 2021-22 season for his first spell with Margate.
Manager Jay Saunders told the club website: "Lewis is well-rounded, experienced centre back who has played a lot of games at a higher level and can bring lots to our team and squad.
"Lewis is a character who will bring a lot both on and off the pitch. I think he’s someone our young players can learn a lot from and he is a player I expect to become a real leader and favourite in a Gate shirt."
He became a fixture at the centre of our defence alongside Ben Swift and had the knack of scoring the occasional goal - his most memorable being a last-minute winner at home to Horsham on 5.2.22. Lewis played in our 4-0 defeat to Horsham in the Isthmian League Cup Final on 13.4.22 at Aveley.
Lewis stayed at Hartsdown for 2022-23 but fell out of favour under manager Andy Drury and was loaned to Enfield Town at the end of October 2022 on what was initially a month-long deal. He scored in his first two league games for Enfield and the loan was extended until the end of the season.
Lewis started 2023-24 at Ashford United but returned to Margate in October 2023 and made his first appearance since resigning in a 2-0 win at home to Chatham on 17.10.23.
He made 25 appearances, plus three as sub, during the season and scored one goal, in a 1-1 draw at home to Cray on 1.4.24.
Lewis stayed at Margate for the 2024-25 season when he made a further 39 appearances - passing 100 for the club. He scored one goal, which was our first in a 2-1 win at Broadbridge Heath on 2.11.24.
In May 2025, it was announced that Lewis would stay at the club for the following season.
