Player Profile:
Born in Chelmsford, Luis played for Gillingham’s youth team and made his first-team debut as a sub in the Gills’ 2-0 home defeat against Yeovil Town in League One on 5.5.07.
In September 2007, he was loaned to Maidstone United. He scored 11 goals in 13 matches for the Stones - including two on 17.11.07 in a 4-3 win at Hartsdown in an Isthmian Premier match. He was recalled by the Gills in November and was immediately loaned to Grays Athletic.
In January 2008, he was recalled from Grays by the Gills but the next month was loaned to AFC Wimbledon of the Isthmian Premier. He was again called back by Gillingham to cover for injuries to the first-team. He was allowed to return to Wimbledon on loan on transfer deadline day and helped them win promotion to Conference South via the Isthmian Premier play-offs. Luis scored in both the play-off semi-final and final.
Luis scored his first goal for Gillingham on 15.11.08 in a 4-0 victory over Rotherham United in League Two.
In March 2009, he signed for Ebbsfleet United on a month's loan. He re-joined the club on loan again the following season in September, and in November 2009 rejoined AFC Wimbledon on a one-month loan.
In February 2010, Luis went out on another loan deal, this time to Dover Athletic until the end of the 2009-10 season.
In the summer of 2010, Luis was released by Gillingham and signed for Welling United. He helped Welling win the Conference South title in 2012-13. In 2014, he joined Tonbridge Angels but left due to injury.
He made two appearances for Margate towards the end of the 2016-17 season. Both times he came on as a sub – first in a 1-1 draw at St Albans on 8.4.17, then in a 3-1 defeat at Weston-super-Mare on 15.4.17.
