Player Profile:

Clever forward who was born in Gravesend, Kent. At the age of 15 he joined Gravesend & Northfleet's set up. On 6.2.06, aged just 17, he scored in a 2-0 win over Dover Athletic in the Kent Senior Cup.

Luke signed his first professional contract in July 2006 and scored seven goals in 37 appearances during his debut season, 2006-07. Gravesend changed their name to Ebbsfleet United at the end of the campaign.

Luke remained a regular in the first-team in the 2007-08 season, making 44 league appearances and scoring seven goals.

He scored a ten-minute hat-trick against Margate at Hartsdown in a Kent Senior Cup semi-final on 26.3.08, a game that Ebbsfleet won 4-1. Luke's goals came on 12, 17 and 22 minutes.

He was also part of Ebbsfleet's FA Trophy success, playing in the 1-0 victory in the Final against Torquay United at Wembley on 10.5.08 in front of a crowd of 40,186.

The 2008-09 season was Luke's last for Ebbsfleet. He made 36 league appearances and scored six times. Luke was called up for the England C team on 16.9.08 in a 6-2 defeat by the Bosnia and Herzegovina B team. He scored one of England's goals.

With Ebbsfleet under financial pressure, Luke joined newly promoted Conference side AFC Wimbledon on a free transfer. He scored seven league goals in 30 appearances in his first season with The Wombles.

He also featured heavily in the 2010-11 campaign in which AFC Wimbledon won promotion to the Football League via the play-offs. He scored seven league goals in 33 appearances.

He was selected by manager Terry Brown to feature from the start of the play-off final against Luton Town on 21.5.11 at Manchester City's ground in front of 18,195. The game went to a penalty shoot-out after it ended 0–0 following extra time. Luke scored his penalty and AFC Wimbledon went on to triumph 4-3.

In January 2011, Luke had attracted the interest of Coventry City, but a formal bid was never made for him.

Luke became the first AFC Wimbledon player to score a goal in the Football League Cup in a 3-2 defeat by Crawley Town on 29.7.11. He made 37 league appearances and scored 11 league goals during 2011-12.

In 2012-13, he helped the Wombles avoid relegation from League Two and was named the Players' Player of the Year. Luke was released by AFC Wimbledon at the end of 2013-14 and joined Margate to be reunited with his former manager Terry Brown.

Luke caught the eye in pre-season, scoring against his old club AFC Wimbledon in a 3-0 win at Hartsdown on 12.7.14 and in a 3-1 Thanet Cup win at Ramsgate on 2.8.14. He was a regular in the team and scored in a 3-1 FA Cup replay win at home to Folkestone on 16.9.14 as well as getting Margate's goal in a 1-1 draw at Wingate & Finchley on 4.11.14. He also scored in the next match, a 3-0 win at VCD Athletic on 8.11.14.

However, his two goals in a 3-3 draw at home to Harrow Borough on 13.12.14 turned out to be his last strikes of the season. He missed the last few weeks of the season with an injury sustained in the 2-1 defeat at Maidstone on 28.3.15. He finished the campaign with eight goals from 42 appearances (two as sub). Luke remained at Hartsdown for 2015-16 as we entered the National League South.

Luke opened his account for the campaign in a 2-1 league win at Gosport on 19.9.15. He also got Margate's goal in a 2-1 FA Cup 4QR defeat at home to Forest Green on 24.10.15, a game that was televised on BT Sport.

Luke drew high praise from Terry Brown after Margate secured their first home league win of the season on 7.11.15. We beat Havant 4-1, a game in which Luke scored, and Brown said: "Luke has been our best player in the last three games. He never put a ball wrong in the game and was magnificent. His passing, control in and around their box, and his hard work made it almost a one-man show."

As Margate's late season slump of ten successive defeats saw them head perilously close to relegation, Luke scored one of the goals in a 4-3 win at home to Hemel Hempstead on 23.4.16 that, ultimately, gave us the points to stay up. He scored our fourth goal to put us 4-1 up early in the second half.

Luke started his third season with Margate in 2016-17 when he was club captain. After a 2-0 FA Cup win at home to Biggleswade Town on 17.9.16, manager Nikki Bull revealed that Luke and other players performed despite being injured.

He said: "Scott Donnelly, Luke Moore and Brett Johnson should be nowhere near a football pitch today. Brett's got six stitches in his cheek and last week he was told 'you're at least a couple of weeks away' [from being able to play]. Scott and Luke weren't even coming to the game today but at 9am I got a call from both of them independently and they said 'look gaffer, we're coming in and we're going to play. We know we're short, we'll do what needs doing'."

On 22.10.16, Luke was sent off for elbowing an opponent after 22 minutes of a 5-1 defeat at home to Concord Rangers in National League South.

In November 2016, with a financial crisis engulfing the club, Luke left Hartsdown and signed for Isthmian League Billericay Town. Manager Nikki Bull said: "Luke's a good friend of mine and I'm disappointed to see him go, but it was a very good deal for him. He's not long had his first child, and the offer from Billericay was a very attractive one."

After a spell at Leatherhead, Luke joined Dorking Wanderers, newly promoted to the Isthmian Premier Division, in the summer of 2017.

Luke was part of the Dorking team that won the Isthmian League title in 2018-19 and remained with them as they entered National League South in 2019-20.

Luke played a dramatic role in Dorking's National League South play-off final victory over his old club Ebbsfleet on 21.5.22. The score was 1-1 with six minutes of added time indicated. Fleet thought they'd won promotion when they scored deep into the additional time. But, as the clock ticked well past the six minutes, Luke bundled home an equaliser to force extra time. Dorking then scored a winner in the additional 30 minutes.

Luke remained with Dorking as they played in the National League in 2022-23. In January 2024, he joined Ashford United of Isthmian South East on a one-month loan.
