Player Profile:
Striker Marcel began his career with Stoke City where he played for the U18 team. He made his senior debut while on loan with Isthmian League Harrow Borough.
He joined Leicester City in January 2014 and featured for the Under-21s. He had loan spells with Ilkeston Town, Nuneaton Town and Bishop’s Stortford before his release by the Foxes at the end of the 2014-15 season.
He made his debut for Guyana in a World Cup qualifier on 15.6.2015 as a sub in a 4-4 draw with St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Marcel joined Walton Casuals in November 2015 before switching to Tooting & Mitcham United in January 2016.
He joined Margate in summer 2016. Manager Nikki Bull told Kent Online: "I must have spoken to around 150 players during the summer but I can't claim to have known too much about Marcel, in reality he found me. I got a text asking 'Is this Nikki Bull's phone?' so I replied asking for his details. He came back and asked if he could come down and train with us. Since then he's been a breath of fresh air."
Marcel made a big impression in pre-season by scoring a hat-trick in a 7-1 home win over Herne Bay on 12.7.16 and twice against Faversham in a 2-0 win at Hartsdown on 19.7.16. However, when the competitive season began, he was starting matches on the bench and was loaned to Grays Athletic in September 2016.
He then returned to Hartsdown but again featured mostly as a sub and was released in December 2016. Of his 17 appearances, 14 had been as a sub and he had not scored.
After a short spell back at Tooting, Marcel joined Hendon for the remainder of the campaign. Ahead of 2017-18, he signed for National League South side Braintree Town and helped them win promotion that season.
After two seasons with the Iron, there followed brief spells at Hampton & Richmond Borough, Concord Rangers, Dartford, Walton Casuals, Staines Town and Welling United.
Marcel joined Cray Valley of the Isthmian South East Division in summer 2021 and scored more than 20 times in the 2021-22 campaign. He then signed for Herne Bay, newly promoted to the Isthmian Premier, in 2022-23. After a stint with Erith & Belvedere in 2023-24, he returned to Cray Valley. On 7.5.25, Marcel was part of an Isthmian League squad that played Middlesex Wanderers at Raynes Park Vale.
