Local left winger who was principally a reserve team player but also played for the first team on occasions.

Peter made his debut in Margate's first game after World War 2 - a 1-1 draw at Gillingham Reserves on 31.8.46 and went on to make seven first team appearances during the 1946/47 season.

He also played three times for the senior side towards the end of the 1947/48 campaign and managed to score twice during those games, his first goal coming on 1.5.48 in a 7-3 home defeat at the hands of Maidstone.

Peter stayed with the club for the 1948/49 season but played exclusively for the reserves.

He continued playing for them during the 1949/50 campaign too but also made two first team appearances towards the end of the season.

Peter was still playing for the reserves during the 1951/52 season.

He was the brother of long-serving Margate / Thanet United official Bob Griffiths and Peter also played table tennis for Margate in the Kent League along with future Margate great Terry Joyce. In addition Peter played cricket locally for many years.
