Player Profile:

Tall centre-back who had a spell with Crystal Palace as a youth before being released at the end of the 2006/07 campaign.

In the summer of 2007, Sam played for Kent League club VCD in friendly against Gillingham but he joined Conference South outfit Fisher for the start of the 2007/08 season proper and then moved on to Slade Green of the Kent League in December 2007.

He featured in Margate's last two friendlies ahead of the 2008/09 campaign and Sam then made his competitive debut at centre-back in a 2-1 defeat at Carshalton in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 16.8.08 - the opening day of the new season. He also wore the number six shirt in Margate's next match - a 2-2 draw with Hendon at Hartsdown Park on 19.8.08 - before missing four games due to injury.

Sam returned to the side in a 2-0 home defeat against AFC Hornchurch on 6.9.08 and then featured as a substitute in a 2-1 defeat at Tooting & Mitcham on 9.9.08. On 13.9.08, he was part of the Margate side who were thrashed 5-1 in an FA Cup tie at Worthing and shortly afterwards Sam was released having made a total of five appearances (one as sub). He then dropped out of senior football.
