Released by Southend United as a youngster, Sidney graduated from Margate's U23 team and made two first-team appearances in 2017-18. He started a Kent Senior Cup tie at Bromley on 12.12.17 that Margate lost 2-1. He also appeared as a sub in Margate's final game of the season, a 1-1 draw against Dulwich Hamlet played at Tooting on 28.4.18. Margate's website said Sidney "slotted into the team with ease and immediately showed maturity and composure on the ball".
Sidney had also been on dual registration with SCEFL side Erith Town during the season.
He scored one of Margate's goals in a 2-0 friendly win at Deal Town on 8.7.17 but was soon off to the United States. He had a scholarship with Francis Marion University in South Carolina. He would be completing a major in finance while playing football in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division Two and the Peach Belt Conference.
Sidney played his first two years of college football at Francis Marion University before transferring to Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania. He also played for University of Illinois Chicago.
He made a brief return to Margate in the 2018-19 season and came on as a sub in a 1-1 draw at home to Worthing on 5.1.19 and won the penalty for Margate’s equaliser.
Sidney won the 2021 National Premier Soccer League Golden Boot while playing for Duluth in Minnesota. He scored 16 goals in 12 starts during the 2021 regular season. He had a trial with Icelandic club Íþróttafélagið Grótta in January 2022.
He then played for Western Mass Pioneers from Massachusetts and Chicago City in USL League Two.
Sidney's father Timmy was first-team fitness coach at Margate during 2018-19.
