Player Profile:
As a youngster, defender Tariq was on the books of Arsenal, Coventry City and Peterborough United.
He started out in non-league with Thurrock before having spells at Dover Athletic, Hoddesdon Town, Swedish second division side Ange IF and Maldon & Tiptree United.
He signed for Bishop's Stortford at the start of 2016-17 before joining Margate. His debut was in a 2-0 defeat at Maidenhead on 3.12.16. He was a regular in the side for the rest of the season. He scored one goal - in a 3-2 defeat at Hemel Hempstead on 18.3.17.
Tariq's season came to a premature end in a 1-0 defeat at Oxford City on 22.4.17 when he was stretchered off after fracturing his ankle. Manager Steve Watt told Kent Online: "The pitch was one of the worst I've seen. It was a scrappy affair - there wasn't a great deal of quality from either side, it was basically trying to get through the game without injury. That's what I was more concerned about because of the pitch itself."
Tariq signed for St Albans City ahead of the 2017-18 season but was released at the end of August 2018.
He then had a brief stay at Hungerford Town before joining Oxford City in 2018. He signed for Braintree Town in 2020 before signing for the now defunct Walton Casuals. After Casuals’ demise in 2022, he joined Hendon at the start of 2022-23 before signing for Hayes & Yeading United. He started 2024-25 with Whitehawk.
