Player Profile:
Born in Galway, Ireland, left-back Tommy started his career in his native country with Athlone Town, Longford and Sligo Rovers before being spotted by Brentford where he played for their Elite Development squad. He also spent time at Millwall where he had a trial cut short by a groin injury. He represented Ireland up to U19 level.
He was released by the Bees in summer 2015 and, after moving north, played for Scarborough Athletic, Brighouse Town, Boston United and Corby Town.
He had been playing for Morecambe's U23 team when he first joined Margate in December 2016. He played two matches, both against Welling United, on 26.12.16 and 1.1.17, and left in January.
In 2017, he played for Preston Lions in Australia before returning to England to sign for Bognor Regis in August 2017. A short spell at Hayes & Yeading United followed. In October 2017, Tommy signed for Ashford United but left in January 2018.
Tommy started the 2018-19 campaign with spells at Hungerford Town and Leatherhead.
July 2019 saw Tommy sign a deal with Northern Irish club Glenavon but a week later it was announced he was transferring to Skellefteå in Sweden to play full-time. In December 2019, he joined Finnish club VPS.
He returned to the UK and played a couple of matches for Braintree Town early in 2020 then joined Hemel Hempstead Town in summer 2020. Tommy also played for Bognor Regis Town in 2020-21.
He returned to Hartsdown in April 2021 but did not play a competitive first-team match before joining Sevenoaks Town. He then had a brief stay at Hornchurch in October 2021 before signing for Leatherhead again. In January 2022, he signed for Hastings United.
Faversham Town was Tommy’s club at the start of 2022-23. He then became a coach at Dulwich Hamlet.
Tommy signed for Isthmian Premier side Potters Bar ahead of 2023-24. In December 2023, Tommy became manager of Arlesey Town of the Spartan South Midlands League.
