Player Profile:

Midfielder Vas grew up in Greece and started as a youth player at Olympiacos before his family moved to France where he played for FC Chambly.

He then came to England and played for Welling United. He then had two spells with Leatherhead split by a period with Hayes & Yeading United.

He signed for Maidstone United in December 2015. On 2.1.2016, he scored the winning goal from a free-kick as Maidstone beat Margate 2-1 at the Gallagher Stadium.

At the start of 2016-17, Vas was transfer listed by the Stones and joined Margate on loan. His debut was on 6.9.16 in a 2-1 win at home to East Thurrock United. 

He scored in the next match, a 2-0 win at Bishop’s Stortford on 10.9.16. He then returned to Maidstone before joining Dulwich Hamlet and then Tonbridge Angels on loan during 2016-17.

He signed for Margate in summer 2017 but then decided he was unable to come to Hartsdown after all. A statement from his agency said: “Vas' new club Margate FC were contacted late on Sunday afternoon to inform them that Vas is unfortunately unable to return to England to play football at this present time due to his mother being unwell. He needs to remain in France to care for her. Vas' contract with Margate has therefore been terminated and he is now a free agent.”

He later played for French side ES Viry-Chatillon.
