Player Profile:
Defender Yado started his career in Charlton Athletic's academy and, on turning professional, had loans to Welling United, Dover Athletic, Staines Town, Eastbourne Borough and Ebbsfleet United.
Having signed a one-year contract extension at Charlton in July 2012, Yado went on further loan deals at AFC Wimbledon in League Two (where he made 16 appearances) and Shrewsbury Town in League One (for whom he played 15 times) but was released by the Addicks at the end of the 2012-13 season.
After a period out of the game, Yado rejoined Ebbsfleet United, now playing in the Conference South, in February 2014, initially on non-contract terms. He then had spells at Chelmsford City and Hayes & Yeading United.
In summer 2016, Yado signed for Margate. He was a regular in the defence in the early part of the campaign and scored one goal, which was in a 3-1 win at home to Weston-super-Mare on 27.8.16.
After Margate’s exit from the FA Cup, Yado was among a number of players to be released. He was briefly at Bishop’s Stortford then re-joined Ebbsfleet. It was here that the Fleet’s refusal to give him the number 5 shirt (in reference to the 90s hit song Mambo No.5) went viral. After the social media outcry, he did wear the shirt for a match, which was then auctioned off. Yado retired due to a knee injury in December 2017.
After he was given the all-clear to play again, he joined Wealdstone on non-contract terms in the summer of 2018. He also later briefly played for Hampton & Richmond Borough. He played for Hampton as they lost 2-1 in the FA Cup First Round at home to Oldham Athletic on 12.11.18.
