FA Cup 2nd Round – Northampton v Margate, December 14th, 1929
After beating Gillingham in the previous round at Priestfield, Margate travelled to Northampton where they were soundly beaten 6-0 in front of 11,000 spectators, of whom 1,000-plus had made the journey from Kent. Nearly 40 years later, Margate would play Northampton at the County Ground, this time in the 1st Round of the Cup.
