Forward who was playing amateur football in the Maidstone District League when he was signed by Thanet United early in the 1987/88 season. The Isle of Thanet Gazette described Andrew as being a "promising youngster" and he made his debut in a Southern League Cup tie against Hastings at Hartsdown Park on 22.9.87. The match finished 1-1 and Andrew's debut was particularly notable because he wasn't actually named in the Thanet side - the club claimed he was a player called Peter Gaze who had last played for Margate during the 1969/70 season. At the time Gaze was long since retired and the club presumably used his name as a convenient 'alias' to cover up the fact that Andrew wasn't registered initially.

After a few weeks out of the side Andrew returned to Thanet's starting line-up for an FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round replay at Woking on 13.10.87 and then played regularly in the weeks that followed. He seemed to be jinxed in front of goal and when he failed to find the net in a 5-2 defeat at Hastings on 17.11.87 it was his 11th appearance (two of them as a substitute) without scoring. Andrew left the club shortly afterwards.
