Strong centre-forward who joined Margate from Betteshanger in March 1954 having scored 17 goals for them during the 1953/54 season and over 20 during 1952/53.

Bill moved to Hartsdown Park in exchange for Jock Flannigan and made his debut in a 4-2 win at Sheppey on 6.3.54. It turned out to be his only appearance because of an irregularity with the transfer deal. It took place after the Kent League's official deadline and as a result both Bill and Flannigan were barred from playing for their new clubs again during 1953/54.

Bill stayed at Margate for the start of the 1954/55 season but only made a handful of reserve team appearances, scoring four times, before leaving the club to join Snowdown in September 1954.

He then returned to Betteshanger for a spell before signing for Ramsgate in August 1955.

Bill once scored 38 goals in a season for Betteshanger, a tally which included six goals in one game.
