Local keeper who started his career playing for Westgate Sports in Thanet's junior leagues, appearing for them during the 1968/69 season.

Brian then had a spell with Ramsgate and played a few games for their reserves during the 1970/71 campaign.

During the 1975/76 season Brian played a few games for Margate's reserves and he spent the 1977/78 campaign with Deal in the Kent League.

In the summer of 1978 he joined Margate as back-up keeper to Steve Bowtell. Brian made his debut in an FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round tie at Croydon on 7.10.78 and played against medical advice as he was recovering from three broken ribs. He then played in Margate's next two games but broke his elbow in October 1978.

When Brian recovered he joined Ramsgate in December 1978 and he stayed at Southwood for the 1979/80 season too, making 43 appearances during the campaign.

In the summer of 1980 he rejoined Deal and played alongside Marcus Newton and Vic Medus in their side that knocked Thanet United out of the FA Cup during the 1981/82 season. However Brian moved on to Herne Bay towards the end of the 1981/82 campaign.

He then returned to Hartsdown in the summer of 1982 and was expected to become Thanet's first-choice keeper for the 1982/83 season. However Brian injured his back in a friendly at Deal in August 1982 and was out for a couple of months. By the time he'd recovered Craig Godden had established himself as first-choice and Brian left the club. He rejoined Deal and was still there during the 1983/84 season. Brian made a total of 130 appearances for the club.

In the summer of 1989 Brian rejoined Ramsgate as cover for Bobby Miles and although by that time he was firmly in the veteran category he made 29 appearances during 1989/90.
