Thanet won 4-0 and Clive scored soon after coming on, he also set up a goal for Norman Fusco to cap a memorable debut. He top scored with 15 goals from 25 appearances and his tally included a hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Sheppey Reserves at Hartsdown on 27.10.90. Clive was joint winner of the reserves' 'Clubman of the Year' award, sharing the honour with Steve Winch.

He returned to Phoenix Rovers for the start of the 1991/92 season.

He was still turning out for Active Lesters in the Thanet Works League during 2003/04 and Clive then joined Thanet League club AFC Margate where he spent the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons before hanging up his boots.
