Former captain of the England Youth team with distinctive wavy fair hair who played for Ainthorpe Grove Youth Club before starting his senior career with Hull in May 1949.

Frank went on to make over 200 first team appearances for the Tigers spanning the 1952/53 to 1959/60 seasons and never managed a goal.

In the summer of 1960 Frank joined Margate and was rightly touted as being something of a 'star' signing for the club. Unfortunately things didn't go well for him during his time at Hartsdown Park. Margate lost 5-0 at Ashford when Frank made his debut at centre-back on 20.8.60 - the opening day of the 1960/61 campaign - and he only made six more appearances before suffering a serious ankle injury that sadly ended his career.

During the 1962/63 season Frank was managing Bridlington Trinity.

He was fluent in both French and German and died in 1981.
