Aggressive player born in Chatham who started his career at Charlton as a youth. Geoff then joined Faversham before linking up with Ramsgate in the summer of 1974.

He spent two years at Southwood and then signed for Herne Bay at the start of the 1976/77 campaign. Geoff then moved on to Folkestone & Shepway and spent two seasons with them before joining Margate in July 1979. Manager Terry Morris said "he will prove to be a valuable member of the squad."

He made his debut in a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Crawley on 18.8.79 and went on to become a fixture in Margate's midfield during the 1979/80 season. Geoff made 50 appearances and scored three goals. The Isle of Thanet Gazette praised him for his "pugnacious tackling and midfield industry". On 2.2.80 Geoff was sent off for dissent in a home match against Waterlooville but when Alan Fagan departed later that month he became club captain.

He retained the captaincy for the 1980/81 season and made a further 36 appearances (two as sub), scoring once. However Geoff left the club at the end of the campaign, having missed the last month or so of it through injury.

He rejoined Ramsgate as captain and went on to win their 'Player of the Year' award for the 1981/82 campaign. He began the 1982/83 season at Southwood too but left the club in November 1982 to join Herne Bay.

Geoff stayed with Herne Bay until the end of the 1984/85 campaign and had a spell as the club's player-manager for a few months during that season.

In the summer of 1985 Geoff returned to Hartsdown Park to join Thanet United. He spent the first two months of the 1985/86 campaign in the reserves before being called into the first team for a game at Dorchester on 26.10.85. The Thanet Times said that Geoff "performed capably in midfield" during a 2-2 draw and he went on to become a fixture in the United side for the rest of the season, usually partnering Billy Plews in the heart of the Thanet defence. He was often outstanding and according to the Thanet Times Geoff "gave absolutely nothing away" in a 1-0 win at Dover on 2.11.85. He made a total of 37 appearances during the campaign, taking his overall tally for the club past 100, and towards the end of the season the Isle of Thanet Gazette said that Geoff had "proved a major success". The paper went on to say that he had turned in "consistently sound displays" but in the summer of 1986 Geoff left the club.

Geoff linked up with Canterbury for the start of the 1986/87 campaign but left City towards the end of October 1986 having only made one Southern League appearance.

He ran a sports shop in Broadstairs High Street during his first spell with Margate.
