Battling midfielder who was born in Southgate, London to Cypriot parents. George's father Andy was on the books of both Arsenal and Fulham as a youth before injury ended his career aged 18. George lived in Spain for two years as a youngster and as a result could speak Spanish fluently.

He started his football career in England with Leyton Orient and George captained the O's Under-16's team during two-and-a-half years with the club. He left Orient in April 2009 and joined Conference club Rushden & Diamonds.

George played for Rushden's youth team during the 2009/10 season and made his senior debut in a county cup tie against Kettering on 17.11.09, less than a month after his 17th birthday. The visitors - who included future Margate striker Moses Ashikodi - won 2-1 after extra time.

George was loaned out to United Counties League outfit Rushden & Higham United for the start of the 2010/11 campaign and he made four appearances for them (three as sub) before briefly returning to Rushden early in September 2010.

Later in September 2010 George joined Great Wakering on loan and he ended up staying with the Isthmian League Division 1 North club for most of what remained of 2010/11, making a total of 13 appearances (two as sub) without scoring.

In March 2011 George had a trial with Southend, playing for their Under-18's and in a reserve team game against Colchester. The League Two club signed him as a result but loaned him to Great Wakering for the start of the 2011/12 season.

George made five appearances during his second spell with Great Wakering and scored in a 3-2 home defeat against Redbridge on 10.9.11 but soon afterwards he picked up an injury and returned to Southend.

On 9.11.11 he played in an Essex Senior Cup tie against visitors Waltham Forest and Southend won the tie 6-5 on penalties after the game had finished 1-1.

Later in November 2011 George had a brief loan spell with Maldon & Tiptree but only played once in the Isthmian League Division 1 North for them.

Southend loaned him to East Thurrock of the Isthmian League Premier Division at the start of December 2011 but George didn't feature in the league there before returning to Roots Hall.

January 2012 saw him farmed out on loan once again and George spent a few weeks with Conference North club Bishop's Stortford where he scored twice in a 5-2 win at Sawbridgeworth in the Hertfordshire Senior Cup on 24.1.12.

In March 2012 he embarked on yet another loan spell, linking up with Thurrock of the Conference South. George made his debut for them in a match against Weston-super-Mare but went off injured after only 14 minutes and didn't play again.

At the end of 2011/12 he was released by Southend and in the summer of 2012 George had a trial with Chelmsford where he featured in a friendly against his old club Leyton Orient.

In September 2012 he signed a short-term deal with League Two club Torquay that ran until January 2013 and manager Martin Ling said of George "He's been with us since the summer and has done enough to earn a short-term deal, which is effectively an extended trial." Ling had been at Leyton Orient during George's time there and had also been the manager that had signed him for Southend.

When his contract expired in January 2013 George was released by Torquay having never featured in their first team and Martin Ling told the club's website "George has done ok during his time here but it's a position where we've got an awful lot of bodies. He came in as a centre-half / right-back, but we see him as a centre-midfielder. We have got a lot of cover in that area, so we felt the right thing would be to allow George to move on."

After a spell out of senior football George joined Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Canvey Island in the summer of 2013 and in August 2013 they agreed a dual-registration deal for him with Great Wakering.

George played in the Essex Senior League for Great Wakering during the opening weeks of the 2013/14 season and on 7.9.13 he scored in a 2-0 win at London Bari. He didn't feature at all for Canvey Island before signing for Witham in October 2013.

George made his debut for the Division 1 North club on 15.10.13 as they lost an Isthmian League Cup tie at Wingate & Finchley on penalties after a 1-1 draw and he went on to make a total of ten appearances for Witham (two as sub) without scoring before joining Margate on a short-term deal in January 2014.

George made his debut as a substitute in a 4-1 win over Cray at Bromley in the Premier Division on 4.2.14 and then featured three times more as a sub in Margate's next four matches. On 8.3.14 he made his first start in midfield in a 2-1 home defeat against Kingstonian but George then missed the next three games completely.

He returned to action as Margate took on Grays at Hartsdown Park on 27.3.14 and George scored with a well-struck, first-time angled shot from just inside the penalty area after the ball bounced up to him following a corner. He was then substituted at half-time as the Essex visitors ended up winning 5-2.

After sitting on the bench for Margate's following two matches George made his next appearance in midfield during a 1-1 draw with visitors Bognor Regis on 5.4.14. He kept his place for a 4-1 win at East Thurrock on 8.4.14 but that turned out to be George's final outing. He was released at the end of April 2014 having scored once from eight appearances (four as sub).
