6' 2" tall defender born in Sidcup, Kent who was on Fulham's books as a schoolboy before joining Ipswich's Academy aged 16 in the summer of 2004. At the time Jack said "You couldn't get a better club, in my opinion, the coaches and staff are the best and I couldn't imagine a nicer or friendlier club at which to learn football."

He played for The Tractor Boys' Under-18's side throughout the 2004/05 season but wasn't part of the team that won the FA Youth Cup against Southampton. During the 2005/06 campaign he made some reserve team appearances and in March 2006 Jack started a trial with AFC Bournemouth where he played in the reserves. He also featured in one reserve team game for Aldershot - against Brighton in April 2006 - before being released by Ipswich at the end of the season.

In September 2006 Jack joined League One club Bournemouth as a non-contract player and played for their reserves before joining Isthmian League Premier Division outfit Staines on loan in November 2006.

He only made one appearance for Staines before returning to Dean Court.

In December 2006 Bournemouth loaned Jack to Hayes of the Conference South and he spent the rest of the 2006/07 campaign there, making 21 appearances without scoring. Jack was released by Bournemouth at the end of the season having never featured in the first team.

In the summer of 2007 he linked up with Conference club Grays and Jack played three times for them in the Conference (once as sub) during September and October 2007. He also featured in an Essex Senior Cup tie against visitors Braintree on 6.11.07 and opened the scoring in a 2-1 win.

In November 2007 Grays loaned him to Sutton and Jack stayed with the Conference South outfit until January 2008, scoring twice from a total of 12 outings.

In February 2008 he signed for Bromley on a permanent basis and Jack went on to make 22 appearances for the Conference South club before being released a few weeks into the 2008/09 campaign.

In October 2008 he joined Sittingbourne of the Isthmian League Division 1 South and Jack played nine times there before the Brickies let him go in November 2008.

Jack signed for Conference South outfit Braintree in December 2008 and was generally used as a substitute there before leaving the club to join Margate early in March 2009 after Braintree's former Margate striker Danny Hockton had recommended him to manager Terry Yorath.

Jack had his first outing for Margate in a friendly against Canterbury on 10.3.09 and Terry Yorath told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "Jack did well - we'll be taking another look at him. He's tall and he's a good header of the ball." He made his competitive debut as a substitute in a 1-0 defeat against Horsham at Hartsdown Park in the Isthmian League Premier Division on 14.3.09 and on 21.3.09 Jack started at centre-back as Margate took on Maidstone at Sittingbourne. The Thanet Times said he "improved as the game went on" and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

Jack then started each of Margate's last six games as the 2008/09 campaign drew to a close and on 11.4.09 he was carried off in a 3-2 defeat at Heybridge after a clash of heads with team-mate Luke Wheatley had left him unconscious for several minutes. He finished the season having made a total of eight appearances, one as a substitute, as Margate ended up in the Premier Division relegation zone.

Jack was given a contract ahead of the 2009/10 campaign and on the eve of the new season Terry Yorath spoke to the Isle of Thanet Gazette about him. Yorath described Jack as being "A natural left-footed central defender." and added "He's another one who needs to grow up...I told him the other day he's too good-looking to be a centre-half. He just looked at me." At that time Jack was doing some modeling work.

He made his first appearance of 2009/10 on 28.7.09 as Margate beat Ramsgate 1-0 at Hartsdown Park in the 1st Leg of a tie played for the Isle of Thanet Gazette Cup and Jack was a fixture in the side for the next few months. On 22.9.09 he scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win over Hendon at Wembley FC, prodding home a loose ball in the aftermath of a Wayne Wilson free-kick, and he'd started each of Margate's first 21 matches before being dropped by new manager Mark Butler after a 3-2 defeat against Cray at Bromley.

Jack was transfer-listed and missed the next 11 games but immediately after Butler left the club in February 2010 he was restored to the heart of Margate's defence in a 1-0 defeat at AFC Hornchurch on 13.2.10. Jack kept his place for a 3-1 home defeat against Billericay on 16.2.10 and then came off the bench in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of visitors Tonbridge on 2.3.10 before missing eight games completely. He returned to the starting line-up in a 2-0 defeat at Welling in the Kent Senior Cup on 30.3.10 but that was Jack's final outing for Margate and he played no part in the last six matches of the season as the club avoided relegation despite finishing in the Isthmian Premier League drop zone. He'd scored once from a total of 25 appearances (one as sub) during 2009/10 and at the end of April 2010 Jack was released.

In May 2010 he played in a charity match at Sevenoaks Town against an Ex Spurs X1 and in August 2010 Jack signed for Maldon & Tiptree.

He made 35 appearances (one as sub) and scored three times for the Essex club in the Isthmian League Division 1 North during the 2010/11 campaign and then joined Harlow, also of Division 1 North, in the summer of 2011.

Jack played 39 times in the league without scoring for Harlow during 2011/12 and stayed with the club for the 2012/13 season too.

His father Paul worked as a scout for clubs including West Ham and Charlton.
