Talented attacking player born in Corringham who started his career as a trainee at Maidstone when they were a Football League club.

In March 1991 Jamie was released by the Stones and joined Margate. He made his debut on the left wing in a 0-0 draw at Newport IOW on 29.3.91 and the Thanet Times said that he was "promising". Margate boss Tommy Taylor said he "did well...at 17 he looks set for a great future in the game." Jamie was then virtually ever-present up to the end of 1990/91, usually playing on the left wing but also featuring as a striker and right winger. On 27.4.91 he scored his first goal in a 3-2 win over Sudbury at Hartsdown Park with what the Thanet Times called "a splendid volley" and Jamie finished the season having made nine appearances, scoring once.

He performed well in Margate's friendlies ahead of the 1991/92 campaign, scoring three goals, and Jamie featured in nine of the first ten games of the new season although often as a substitute. When he started matches he usually played on the left wing. On 26.8.91 he scored his first goal of the campaign in a 2-2 draw with Ashford at Hartsdown but in October Jamie suffered an injury that kept him on the sidelines for around two months. Apart from a brief substitute appearance in a 2-0 defeat at Erith & Belvedere on 5.11.91 Jamie didn't feature in the first team for 14 matches played between 19.10.91 and 26.12.91. He returned to action when he wore the number seven shirt in a 0-0 home draw with Havant on 28.12.91 and the Thanet Times report on the game said that he "often flattered to deceive". Jamie kept his place on the right wing for Margate's next five matches and according to the Isle of Thanet Gazette he turned in "a five-star performance" in a 1-0 win at Hythe on 1.1.92. The paper described him as being "fleet-footed". On 4.1.92 Jamie scored what the Times said was "a fine goal" in a 3-1 defeat against Braintree at Hartsdown. The paper said his "fearsome left-footed volley fairly whistled into the far corner of the net". It was his second and last goal of the season. When he came on as a substitute in a 1-1 home draw with Buckingham on 8.2.92 it was Jamie's 19th appearance (six as sub) of 1991/92 and it turned out to be his final one for Margate. In March 1992 he was loaned to Ashford and Jamie played well for them in a 1-1 draw at home to Margate on 17.3.92. The Gazette said he was "often prominent" and shortly afterwards Jamie's transfer became permanent.

He was a thorn in Margate's side during 1992/93, scoring the only goal of the game as Ashford beat Margate 1-0 in a Kent Senior Cup tie at Homelands on 3.11.92 and finding the net again in a 4-0 win at Hartsdown Park on 8.12.92.

Jamie later had a loan spell at Purfleet before joining Sudbury in March 1994 for a fee of £4,000.

He went on to make over 100 appearances for Sudbury and also had another loan spell at Purfleet during 1995/96 and one at Cambridge City towards the end of 1996/97 before moving to Chelmsford for the 1997/98 season.

Jamie scored 16 goals in 42 appearances for Chelmsford during the 1997/98 campaign and his tally included the winner as City beat Margate 2-1 at home on 1.11.97. The Thanet Times report on the match said Jamie earnt the game's "star rating" for his "solo runs down the left".

He moved on to Canvey Island in the summer of 1998 and scored five goals before linking up with East Thurrock in February 1999.

Jamie scored ten goals in 15 league games for East Thurrock before the end of 1998/99.

His next move took him to Grays in the summer of 1999 and Jamie scored nine goals in 35 league appearances (18 as sub) during 1999/00 including all four in a 4-1 home win over Whyteleafe on 4.12.99. He also scored four cup goals. He started the 2000/01 campaign at Grays but after failing to score in six league appearances (three as sub) Jamie moved on to Romford in September 2000.

He scored once in six league appearances before signing for Leyton Pennant in October 2000 - his third Isthmian League club of the season in a third different division. Grays were in the Premier Division, Romford were in Division 1 and Leyton Pennant were in Division 2.

Jamie scored three goals in 23 league appearances (two as sub) for Pennant before the end of the 2000/01 campaign and then moved to Aveley in the summer of 2001.

During the 2001/02 season he scored nine goals for Aveley in 25 league appearances (three as sub) before a cruciate ligament injury ended his career in senior football at the age of 29.

Jamie later played some Sunday League football for Ockendon Motor Spares in the Circus Tavern Sunday League and in 2011 he was running his own electricians business and living in South Ockendon, Essex.
