Attacking player born in Rochester who started his career as a trainee with Gillingham, playing in their youth team during the 1990/91 season, before joining Lordswood for 1991/92.

In March 1992 Jason moved to Gravesend & Northfleet and scored on his debut in a 2-1 defeat at Waterlooville. He finished the campaign having scored four goals in eight appearances for the Fleet. He stayed with the club for the 1992/93 season and in February 1993 Jason scored both Gravesend's goals as they knocked Gillingham out of the Kent Senior Cup at Priestfield. After scoring a total of seven goals in 28 first team appearances (six as sub) for the Fleet he left the club in November 1993 and joined Sittingbourne. At the start of February 1994 Jason left the Brickies and signed for Margate.

He made his debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Dunstable on 5.2.94 and after making two further sub appearances in the weeks that followed Jason started a game for the first time when Margate travelled to Weymouth on 19.3.94. Although the match ended in a 3-2 defeat he got one of the Margate goals and Jason then started the club's next six games in an attacking midfield role. From 26.3.94 to 19.4.94 inclusive he scored in five consecutive matches and in the third of them - a 5-1 win over Tonbridge at Hartsdown Park on 4.4.94 - Jason bagged four goals in what the Isle of Thanet Gazette called "an outstanding performance". On 9.4.94 he was sent off for dissent having scored in a 4-1 defeat at his old club Gravesend & Northfleet and on 19.4.94 Jason ended his prolific run by firing home a 30 yard free-kick in a 2-2 draw at Salisbury. The Gazette called it "a thunderbolt of a strike" and said that Jason had been an "excellent capture" who was "razor-sharp" and "a revelation...with his speed off the mark and deadly shooting power". After missing three matches in April 1994 through suspension Jason returned to action on 2.5.94 when he came on as a sub as Margate beat Dover 2-1 at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium to win the Kent Senior Cup. He regained his place in the starting line-up for the last two games of the season and finished the campaign having scored nine goals in thirteen appearances (four as sub).

Jason was a regular in the side for most of the 1994/95 season, again playing either as a striker or in midfield. On 3.9.94 he scored his first goals when he got both in a 2-1 win at Clevedon and Jason also scored in Margate's next match - a 4-1 win at Tonbridge on 7.9.94. Later in September his younger brother Danny joined Margate and the first time they both appeared in the same team was on 4.10.94 in a 5-1 win at Fisher. At the start of 1995 Jason lost his place in the side and after featuring in a 5-0 defeat at Waterlooville on 14.1.95 he didn't start another game until 14.3.95 when he scored in a 3-2 home defeat against Erith & Belvedere. The Thanet Times praised his "bold running down the right flank" in a 3-1 defeat against Fareham at Hartsdown on 1.4.95 and later in the month Jason scored in consecutive matches - a 3-1 defeat at Tonbridge on 15.4.95 and a 3-0 home win over Fisher on 17.4.95. They were his last goals for Margate as after playing in a 3-2 defeat against visitors Weymouth on 25.4.95 Jason didn't feature in the last three games of the season. He ended the campaign having scored nine goals in 48 appearances (five as sub).

Jason stayed at Margate for the start of the 1995/96 season but a cruciate knee ligament injury prevented him from playing and in October 1995 he became temporary manager of the club's Under-16's team, replacing Mark Weatherly despite only being 21 himself. After a few weeks Weatherly resumed his duties and Jason left the club halfway through 1995/96 as he was still unfit.

During the 1998/99 campaign Jason trained with Sheppey United for a short period before deciding to retire aged only 24.

In 2008 Jason was living in Horam, East Sussex and working as a commercial manager for a building company. At that time his seven year-old son was part of Chelsea's Academy.

Jason's grandfather Ralph played Kent League football in the 1950's and his clubs included Luton who were a Chatham-based team.
