Crowborough-born midfielder who played for Kent Schools as a youngster alongside future Margate player Paul Sykes. Jon started his career with Queens Park Rangers during 1993/94 and was a member of the youth team that won the South Eastern Counties League and Cup. He also played four times for the R's reserves in the Football Combination during the 1994/95 season.

After completing his apprenticeship at QPR Jon joined Sittingbourne during the 1995/96 campaign and played in their Southern League Cup winning side that season.

He moved on to Sheppey in the summer of 1996 and in December 1996 Jon signed for Margate.

He made his debut in midfield in a 3-2 defeat at St.Leonards Stamcroft on 11.12.96 but apart from one further substitute appearance Jon didn't feature in the first team again until 15.2.97 when he played in a 2-1 defeat at Witney. He started Margate's next two games as well and scored in a 5-3 defeat at Bashley on 22.2.97. During the closing weeks of the 1996/97 campaign Jon made three more sporadic appearances and the last of them was as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Clevedon on 3.5.97. He was released at the end of the season having scored once in eight appearances (three as sub).

Jon joined Chelmsford for the start of the 1997/98 campaign before linking up with Canterbury a couple of months into the season.

He finished 1997/98 with Lewes where he made 13 appearances in the Isthmian League Division 3 without scoring.

Jon joined Isthmian Premier League outfit Gravesend & Northfleet in the summer of 1998 and made four league appearances (two as sub) without scoring before signing for St.Leonards in December 1998.

He moved on to Fisher Athletic (London) early in 1999 but rejoined St.Leonards in the summer of 1999.

Jon stayed with the Sussex club until the end of the 2001/02 season and then had a spell with Langney Sports before retiring.
