Attacking midfielder who had spells on the books of Portsmouth and Gillingham as a youth.

After a season in the Gills' junior sides Matt joined Margate on trial in the summer of 1998 and scored in pre-season friendlies at Herne Bay and Deal.

He then played in the opening game of the 1998/99 campaign as Margate lost on penalties at Forest Green in the Southern League Championship match but was released soon afterwards.

After leaving Hartsdown Park Matt joined Dover where he played in the reserves for the remainder of 1998/99.

He linked up with Deal for the 1999/00 season and scored eight goals in 13 reserve team games (one as sub) before leaving the club towards the end of 1999.

During the 2000/01 campaign Matt played for Folkestone's reserves and by 2002/03 he was back at Deal where he made a few first team appearances.

In March 2003 he signed for Ramsgate and scored twice in a 4-3 defeat at Thamesmead on 1.4.03 but Matt left the Rams at the end of the season and went back to Deal for a third spell.

In September 2003 he rejoined Ramsgate but left the club a few weeks later to link up with Kent County League outfit Betteshanger. Matt spent the 2004/05 and 2005/06 campaigns there too before injury forced him to retire.

He was appointed as manager of Canterbury's Under-21's side for the 2013/14 season.
