Hard working striker born in Northampton who started his career with his hometown club and played in the Cobblers' youth and reserve teams. Nick also played for the senior side in some County Cup matches.

In November 1973 he joined Margate on a month's trial from Northampton and manager Les Riggs said "he is big and strong and has a lot of potential....he could do us a considerable amount of good."

Nick made his debut aged 19 as Margate won 1-0 in a Kent Messenger Trophy tie at Canterbury on 13.11.73 but only played once more before departing.

After being released by Northampton Nick had a short spell with Wellingborough Town and later played for amateur club Wellingborough Whitworth whilst working for his father's estate agency.

He sadly died in the Northampton area in August 1999 aged only 44.
