Talented Ashford-born attacker who played local football in the Ashford area before signing for Margate in the summer of 1979.

Manager Terry Morris had high hopes for Peter and said "he is very quick with a good shot and all he needs is a shade more confidence." Peter scored with a header on his debut in a 3-2 home defeat at the hands of Crawley on 18.8.79 and the Thanet Times described it as "a classic goal". The paper also said that Peter was "the brightest part of Margate's overall display." The article went on to say that Peter was "a fleet-footed striker with the deadly finishing touch who could well prove to be Margate's best bargain discovery for many a moon". He scored in each of his next two appearances, including an effort in a 2-1 win over Dunstable on 25.8.79 that the local press described as "magnificent". Peter went on to make a total of 31 appearances, usually as a striker but sometimes as a midfielder, during the remainder of the 1979/80 season but he suffered a loss of form after Christmas. He struggled for goals after his early successes and finished the campaign with only five to his credit. At the end of the season Peter was released.

He then joined Ashford before returning to Thanet to play for Ramsgate in January 1981.
