Date / Year of birth: 18th September 1933

Position: Right-back

Season of first appearance: 1950/51

Season of last appearance: 1959/60

Thanet-born full-back who spent over ten years at Hartsdown in two spells with Margate, during which he was principally a reserve team player. Peter made his first appearance for the reserves during the 1949/50 campaign when aged just 15.

During the 1950/51 season Peter made his first team debut, making a one-off appearance in a 2-1 home defeat against Snowdown on 11.5.51.

He also played once for the first team towards the end of the 1951/52 campaign and once again during 1952/53.

During the 1953/54 season Peter continued to play regularly for the reserves and he also had a spell on loan at Herne Bay during the campaign. He then spent the entire 1954/55 season with them before returning to Hartsdown in September 1955.

During the 1955/56 season Peter again made one first team appearance, scoring an own goal in a 3-2 home defeat against Tunbridge Wells on 18.2.56. He spent the remainder of the campaign as a fixture in the reserves.

The 1956/57 season saw Peter once again playing a prominent role in the reserves but he also made two first team appearances during the campaign.

Three further appearances for the senior side followed in the 1957/58 season.

During the 1958/59 season Peter finally got a run in the first team and he played regularly at right-back in the second half of the campaign, taking over from Derek Wells who'd pushed forward. He made a total of 20 appearances and scored a stunning goal from almost the halfway line during a 3-1 Kent League Cup win over Ashford at Hartsdown on 22.1.59. Remarkably Peter got an almost identical goal in a 2-0 win over Canterbury in a Thames & Medway Cup tie at Hartsdown on 9.4.59 - his lob from around the halfway line deceiving the City keeper.

The 1959/60 season proved to be Peter's last at Hartsdown. He made eight first team appearances but in the summer of 1960 he was released.

Peter was a Master Builder and he died on 31.8.94.
