Attacking player who started his career with Maidstone where he played in the youth team during the 1985/86 season.

Ricky moved on to Chatham for the 1987/88 campaign and played for Kent's youth team during the season.

Halfway through the 1989/90 campaign he joined Sheppey and in its report on Margate's 5-0 home win over the Islanders on 20.1.90 the Thanet Times described Ricky as a "wily winger" who was "outstanding...with some darting runs down the left".

In the summer of 1990 Ricky signed for Sittingbourne and he stayed with the Brickies until January 1992 when he linked up with Whitstable.

He started the 1992/93 season at Whitstable but towards the end of August 1992 Ricky rejoined Chatham where he spent a few months before finishing 1992/93 at Corinthian.

Ricky later went back to Chatham and stayed there until the start of November 1995 when he signed for Margate.

He made his debut on the right wing in a 2-0 win at Fisher on 4.11.95 and the Thanet Times said Ricky "made an instant impact...and will surely prove a major asset". He played regularly from then on, usually on the wing or as a striker, and the Times said he "impressed with his astute passing up front" during a 2-2 draw with Newport IOW at Hartsdown Park on 25.11.95. On 16.12.95 Ricky scored his first goal for Margate in a 4-1 win at Clevedon and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said he was "often a threat...with his darts down the flank" in a 2-1 win at Tonbridge on 1.1.96. He scored twice in a 4-0 win at Fleet on 10.2.96 and Ricky then got five more goals in his next seven appearances, the last of them after coming on as a substitute in a 2-2 home draw with Tonbridge on 6.4.96. He made two further sub appearances after that before picking up a thigh injury during a 1-0 win over Trowbridge at Hartsdown on 20.4.96. Ricky missed Margate's last four matches and finished the season having scored eight goals in 25 appearances (five as sub).

He took part in some of Margate's friendlies ahead of the 1996/97 campaign but then tore a knee cartilage before the start of the season proper. Ricky had to undergo an operation and was out of action until February 1997 when he featured in a few reserve team matches. On 22.3.97 Ricky returned to first team duty when he came on as a substitute in a 1-0 win at Waterlooville and he then played a role in seven of the last nine games of the season. All bar one of his appearances were as a substitute with the exception being a 1-1 draw at Clevedon on 3.5.97 when Ricky wore the number three shirt. He ended the campaign having played eight times (seven as sub).

Ricky stayed with Margate for the start of 1997/98 and featured in some pre-season friendlies but having failed to break into the first team he returned to Chatham towards the end of 1997. Ramsgate had tried to sign him in August 1997.

Ricky played for Chatham until early 1999 when he dropped into the Kent County League to join Snodland.

During the 1999/00 season he played regularly for Snodland and also appeared twice for Deal in March 2000.

Ricky later had a spell with Maidstone before rejoining Snodland. He was their player-coach during the 2003/04 campaign.
