5' 11" tall Scottish keeper who was signed by Montrose in November 1945 before moving on to Raith in September 1946.

Robert went on to make 31 first team appearances for Raith in all competitions during 1946/47 and 1947/78 before his contract was cancelled in March 1948.

He had a brief spell with Fulham at the start of the 1948/49 season before joining Margate in September 1948.

Robert made his debut in a 2-0 Kent League defeat away to Gillingham Reserves on 22.9.48 and then enjoyed a run of games in the first team before losing his place to the newly-signed Ron Johnson. His final appearance was on 11.12.48 - a 2-2 draw at Royal Marines Chatham - and after that Robert played reserve team football before being released in May 1949. He'd made a total of eight appearances during 1948/49.
