Lewisham-born attacker who was educated at Brockley County Grammar School in his home town.

Stan joined the RAF in 1940 and served throughout the Second World War in bomber command as a gunner / wireless operator and then as an instructor.

After the war Stan had trials with Millwall, Charlton, Gillingham and Lincoln. He then played local football for a few years.

Stan joined Gravesend & Northfleet for the 1949/50 season and scored once in 20 appearances for the Fleet during the campaign. Stan made eight more first team appearances for Gravesend during 1950/51 and scored three goals but didn't feature in the Fleet's senior side during 1951/52 or 1952/53.

In the summer of 1953 Stan signed for Margate and made his debut on the opening day of the 1953/54 season, playing as an inside right in a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Dover. He played on the left wing in Margate's next two Kent League games but then lost his place and spent the rest of the campaign in the reserves before leaving the club at the end of the season.

Stan joined Whitstable for the 1954/55 campaign and mostly played for their reserves before moving on to Bexleyheath & Welling for the 1955/56 season.

In 1956 Stan emigrated to Vancouver, Canada where he married, coached boys teams and had a successful career in advertising. He later had many holidays back in England.

Stan died in Vancouver on 23.9.06 aged 84.
