Striker who started out in the Sevenoaks & District Football League where he was prolific for several seasons. In the summer of 2007 Tom was given a trial by Dartford and he was signed by the Darts for the 2007/08 campaign.

He went on to score once from 22 league outings (19 as sub) as Dartford claimed the Isthmian League Division 1 North title and Tom also scored five times in cup ties. He won the Darts' 'Young Player of the Year' award for the season.

In May 2008, shortly after the 2007/08 campaign ended, Tom joined Sittingbourne and he scored 12 times in 29 Division 1 South appearances (two as sub) during 2008/09 as well as scoring once in a cup tie. He then scored 11 league goals for the Brickies from 34 outings (six as sub) during the 2009/10 season and managed three goals in cup ties. One of those came in a 3-2 home win over Margate in the Isthmian League Cup on 16.12.09 and Tom also found the net as Sittingbourne won 3-1 at Folkestone to win the Kent Senior Cup on 4.5.10.

He became the Brickies captain for the 2010/11 campaign and Tom scored 15 times during the first half of the season to take his overall tally for Sittingbourne to 41 goals from 88 outings. At the start of 2011 the club stopped paying their players which prompted approaches from Leatherhead, Maidstone, Metropolitan Police, Thamesmead and Whitehawk for Tom's services but he opted to sign for Margate.

He made his debut on 22.1.11 as Margate beat visitors Hastings 2-0 in an Isthmian League Premier Division game and from then on Tom was a fixture in the side. He scored his first goal in a 3-1 win at Carshalton on 8.2.11, driving home a shot from 14 yards, and manager Iain O'Connell told Margate's website "Tom is unlucky not to have a hat-trick tonight." Speaking about his goal Tom told the site "It was really good to get it; I've waited a long while for it so it was a bit of a relief. The more you go on in a new team without scoring and you're a striker, the more nervous you get in front of goal. But it was good to get this and hopefully I can go on and get loads more now."

Tom then scored in his next outing - a 1-1 draw with Horsham at Horsham YMCA on 12.2.11 - and on 12.3.11 he got both goals in a 2-1 win over Carshalton at Hartsdown Park. He then took his tally to five with a strike as Margate beat Hendon 3-2 in a match played at Wembley FC on 19.3.11.

Tom managed further goals in a 3-2 home defeat against Harrow on 2.4.11 and a 1-1 draw at Aveley on 16.4.11 to finish the 2010/11 campaign with a record of seven goals from 18 appearances.

On the eve of the 2011/12 season Margate manager Chris Kinnear spoke about Tom to the Isle of Thanet Gazette and said "To be fair, he's looked a lot fitter in pre-season and done very well. We want him to bring others into play and get in the box. He's quite mobile for a big fella".

He forged a new striking partnership with Kwesi Appiah as the campaign got underway and on 23.8.11 Tom got his first goal of the season in a 3-0 home win over Aveley in the Isthmian League Premier Division.

On 3.9.11 he scored twice to earn Margate a 2-1 win over Horsham at Horsham YMCA and Tom's second goal was described as "stunning" by the Thanet Times. It was a direct free-kick that the paper called a "30-yard rocket into the top corner" and Chris Kinnear told Margate's website "That went so hard and right in that corner - I don't know who could have saved that really. It wasn't a curler or anything; he just hit it through the laces. It was a great finish from him." Tom himself said "I've never scored a goal like that in my life !"

In the aftermath of Tom's match-winning display Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "I didn't know much about him when I came back but he didn't look fit. He was one of those who were going to be leaving but he came back for pre-season much improved. He's worked very hard and done extra training to get himself fit. I made it known in the dressing room that he'd been doing extra training, so all the lads have given him some stick !"

On 14.9.11 Tom was on target again as Margate won 3-1 at Metropolitan Police and he made it back-to-back goals with a strike in a 3-0 home win over Tooting & Mitcham on 17.9.11. He then ended a barren run of five games without a goal by scoring twice as Margate beat visitors Cray 2-1 in a Kent Senior Cup tie on 11.10.11.

Tom's eighth goal of the season came in a 3-1 win at Chipstead in the FA Trophy on 22.10.11 and he'd featured in each of Margate's first 19 matches, starting all but one of those games, when he went off after 25 minutes of a 2-0 defeat at Lewes on 1.11.11. Tom was diagnosed with a fractured metatarsal picked up during a goalmouth scramble that resulted in Lewes' first goal and Chris Kinnear told the Isle of Thanet Gazette "He kicked the bottom of someone's studs in the build-up to the goal. The fracture's been picked up but we don't know how bad it is at the moment because the swelling is so severe."

Tom missed nine games with the injury before returning to action as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at Billericay on 10.12.11 and he then wore the number nine shirt in a 3-1 home defeat against Metropolitan Police on 17.12.11. The Thanet Times said he looked "rusty" and "blew a couple of glorious early chances". For the next two months Tom was often used as a substitute but on 31.12.11 he started and scored in a 3-1 win at Aveley before coming off the bench to score his tenth goal of the season in Margate's next match - a 4-1 win over Hastings at Hartsdown Park on 2.1.12.

After over two months without a goal Tom found the net after just 28 seconds of a 2-2 draw at Wingate & Finchley on 3.3.12 and then the Thanet Times said he "really should have scored" after missing a one-on-one having coming on as a sub in a 0-0 draw with visitors Leatherhead on 10.3.12. On 31.3.12 Tom got his 12th goal with a header in a 2-1 win over visitors Horsham and the Thanet Times said he "cleverly flicked home". He then enjoyed a run of starts and Tom scored in his next outing as Margate beat Hendon 3-0 at Wembley FC on 7.4.12.

In its report on a 1-1 draw at Tooting & Mitcham on 14.4.12 the Thanet Times said Tom caused the Tooting defence "a whole manner of problems in the first half but was unable to convert his chances" and on 28.4.12 he played as Margate lost 5-0 at Canvey Island in the last match of the campaign. He'd scored 13 goals from 43 appearances (12 as sub) during 2011/12 but in May 2012 Tom signed for Leatherhead who'd just been relegated to the Isthmian League Division 1 South.

He scored on his debut for the Tanners to secure a 1-0 home win over Whitstable on 18.8.12 and Tom was a regular in Leatherhead's side throughout the 2012/13 season, making 32 league appearances (two as sub) and scoring 14 goals. He also scored two goals in cup ties.

The 2013/14 campaign was a prolific one for Tom and he scored over 30 goals as Leatherhead won promotion to the Isthmian League Premier Division after beating Folkestone in the Play-Off Final.

In May 2014 he rejoined Dartford, newly-relegated to the Conference South, and Tom's older brother Elliot was on the Darts' books at the time. Tom signed a one-year contract with Dartford.
