5' 10" tall Margate-born defender who played for the club's Under-14's side during the 1998/99 season and was then on Charlton and Gravesend & Northfleet's books as a schoolboy.

Wes returned to Margate for the 2001/02 campaign and he was a fixture in the reserves during the season. On 19.3.02 he made his first team debut aged 17 when he came on for the injured Iain O'Connell after 23 minutes of a Kent Senior Cup tie at Folkestone. The Thanet Extra said Wes "acquitted himself admirably" as Margate won 2-1 and the Isle of Thanet Gazette said he "rarely looked out of place in the well-drilled Margate defence". Wes then returned to the reserves for the remainder of the season and won their 'Player of the Year' award.

He carried on playing for Margate's reserves during the early months of the 2002/03 campaign and Wes also turned out for Ramsgate's Under-18's side. On 28.1.03 he made his first senior appearance of the season for Margate as a substitute in a 3-1 win over Sittingbourne in a Kent Senior Cup tie at Hartsdown Park. Wes took to the field as a replacement for Iain O'Connell with 12 minutes left. He made one more first team appearance - as a substitute in a 3-0 win at Erith & Belvedere on 1.4.03, also in the Kent Senior Cup - but at the end of the campaign Wes left the club.

He joined Herne Bay in the summer of 2003 and Wes was a regular in their first team throughout the 2003/04 season.

On 25.7.04 he made a one-off appearance for Margate in a friendly at Ramsgate and the Thanet Times said Wes "impressed at the back" but he spent the 2004/05 campaign proper with Herne Bay again.

He signed for Deal ahead of the 2005/06 season and after a year there Wes linked up with Faversham in July 2006, joining the club in time for their first season back in the Kent League.

He won Faversham's Supporters' and Managers' 'Player of the Year' awards for 2007/08 and in the summer of 2008 Wes played in two of Margate's pre-season friendlies. He went back to Faversham for the start of the 2008/09 campaign proper and in the summer of 2009 Wes moved on to Lordswood.

He stayed with the Medway club until December 2011 when he joined Lordswood's fellow Kent League club Cray Valley (Paper Mills). Wes had also been playing for Thanet Sunday Football League club Active Queens Head during 2011/12 and was working for Tesco at one of their Thanet stores. He'd been with the company for many years by then.

Wes left Cray Valley at the end of the 2011/12 season and started 2012/13 playing for Albys United in the Thanet Sunday Football League.

In March 2014 Wes rejoined Lordswood of the Southern Counties East Football League.
