Much-travelled Southampton-born striker who started his career with Cowes on the Isle of Wight before the Saints signed him in May 1957.

Wesley went on to make eight first team appearances for Southampton and also played over 120 reserve team games for the Saints before joining Reading in March 1962.

He made 18 senior appearances for the Royals before dropping into non-league football to join Chelmsford in the summer of 1963.

Wesley scored 30 times in 42 appearances for City during 1963/64 and two of his goals came in a 4-1 win over Margate on 14.9.63. During the 1964/65 campaign he scored 15 times in 41 games but at the end of the season Wesley joined Cambridge United.

After a year at Cambridge he joined Brentwood for the start of the 1966/67 campaign and in January 1968 they loaned him to Margate.

Wesley made his debut on 17.1.68 as Margate went down 4-2 at Erith & Belvedere in a Kent Floodlight Cup game and was described as "a useful ball player" by the local press but only played once more before being going back to Brentwood.

In the summer of 1968 Wesley returned to Chelmsford but after making 13 appearances for them in the early part of the 1968/69 campaign he moved on to Bexley.

Wesley spent four seasons at Bexley and later had short spells with Fleet, Basingstoke (during 1972/73), Walton & Hersham and Staines.

In 1974 he returned to Bexley as reserve team coach.

In 2000 he was living near Sunbury-on-Thames and still doing some IT consultancy work although officially retired.
